Campari is a brand of bitter liqueur produced in Italy. It is made from a blend of herbs, fruits, and spices, which is steeped in alcohol and water. The exact recipe is kept a secret by the Campari Group, but it is known to contain around 60 different ingredients, including chinotto, an Italian citrus fruit, as well as rhubarb and cascarilla. The liqueur is known for its deep red colour and its bitter, slightly sweet and slightly herbal flavour. It is typically served as an aperitif before a meal, it can also be enjoyed mixed with soda water, orange juice, or in cocktails. The most famous cocktail that is made with Campari is the Negroni. The brand is considered one of the best-known and most popular bitter liqueurs in the world. It is bottled at 24% alcohol by volume (ABV) or 48 proof.
