Captain Morgan Dark Rum is a brand of dark rum produced by Diageo. It is made from a blend of aged Caribbean rums and is aged in oak barrels. The ageing process gives the rum its dark colour and imparts a rich, smooth and complex flavour profile, with notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla, and spices. The rum is typically consumed as a mixer, most commonly in cola or ginger beer, or as the base spirit in cocktails. It is a sweeter and more full-bodied version than the traditional Captain Morgan Spiced rum. The label features a portrait of the famous privateer Henry Morgan, who was also known as Captain Morgan.
